Pastor's Letter - March 2008
Here is a copy of the March, 2008 letter from Pastor Jim encouraging the Covenant community to continue to engage in clear communication and open dialog about the proposed facilities expansion.

A Time for Continued Dialogue: Clarifying God’s new, emerging directions for Covenant!

Dear Covenant friends in faith,

The elders and pastoral staff wholeheartedly believe that God is calling the Covenant Church family to expand facilities in support of our expanding and growing Christian ministries. This conclusion was reached in 2006 after 3 years of extensive prayer, study, congregational input, and two facility expansion commissions.

The Session rationale for this expansion is provided in the attached motion (approved unanimously by Session in May, 2006.) The motion is written in the form of a resolution. Note that the Session rationale is provided in detail by each paragraph beginning with the word “whereas”; and the motion itself follows the word, “ resolved”.

Since approving this motion, the Session and staff seek continuing clear communication and open dialogue about the details of church expansion with all members of the Covenant family, the Presbytery, and community friends.

The current, detailed descriptions and sketches of all proposed changes are now available through:

  • a power point presentation on Sunday, April 13 at 9:45 am
  • our Covenant website at www.covenantfrazer.org
  • a hard copy of the power point slides available for review in the church office.

My hope is that you will be able to prayerfully review the updated expansion details. I believe we are approaching an unprecedented opportunity for spiritual growth.

As we go forth together, I am grateful for the Spirit that binds us as sisters and brothers in faith, fills us with Grace, and calls us to new patterns of excellence in ministry. What a privilege, indeed, to be your pastor: to come alongside of the elders, staff, congregation and Presbytery, to listen with you for the voice of God.

Your pastor and servant in faith,

Dr. Jim Moyer
Lent, 2008
