Will the large maple tree by the water basin be removed? |

No, it will remain. Also,the water basin will be located underground. |

Will there be a nursery in the new facility? |
|
Yes there will be an additional nursery added. |

Will the deacons pantry be all one level? |
|
Yes,and handicapped accessible. |
|

Will there be an elevator in the deacons pantry? |
|
No elevator will be needed because it is one level. |

Will there be a basement in the deacon’s pantry? |

No, otherwise an elevator will be required. |

How many square feet will the new teen center be? |
|
Approximately 5000 sq ft. |

On a day where the hand bells are playing where would the bell tables go? |

The entire chancel area is flexible. There is a lot of space between the risers and the first pew. There is also an area for the bells on the second level as well. |

Where will the baptismal font be located? |
|
It will be located in front of the nave area, near the second row of pews. |

Will all of the windows in the new facility be clear? |
|
The windows on the route 30 area and the parking lot elevation will be stained glass. The others will be clear. |

What is the height of the new sanctuary? |
|
Floor to ceiling elevation is approximately 50 feet. |

For the new sanctuary, are we going to be using the same serpentine stone that is currently on the |

No. Unfortunately, there is no serpentine stone available anywhere that would match the kind on the current sanctuary. |

What type of heat will be used in the new sanctuary? |
|
There has been no decision made concerning the heating source but geothermal is probably the direction we will go. |

What are the advantages to having a green building? |
|
We will be preserving materials. Also by using certain materials, we will be using materials that do not give off volatile organic compounds (VOCs) e.g. paints. |

Would we be eligible for grants for being green? |
|
There is a possibility of grants but we have not investigated at this point in time. |

With all of the additional entrances, what type of security will be in place? |
|
Many systems will have to be investigated. Some examples might be card access, or some type of video surveillance system. |

How many members do we currently have at Covenant? |
|
As of 12/31/07 we had 599 members. |

How many seats does the current sanctuary seat? |
|
If we use every seat in the church, including the choir loft, with 8 people per pew, we can seat 250 people. |

Do we have an agreement to use the funeral home parking and driveway? |
|
Yes. We currently have a cross agreement with the funeral home to use their parking lot and for them to use our parking lot. |

What will be the style of the new sanctuary? |
|
It will not be contemporary, it will be traditional in style, but we have not gotten there yet with regards to the finishes. We want to use as many natural materials as possible. We will be using stone on the interior. The floors might be hard stone. With the organ and the acoustics, we will need to use certain materials. Jim Carr will be working with an acoustical engineer to assist with this issue. |

Will the pews in the new sanctuary be stationary? |
|
In the main sanctuary area they will be, but the ones in the transepts, the chancel, and the ones in the loft area will be movable in the current design. |

What types of materials will be used on the exterior of the new sanctuary? |
|
Some stone, and some stucco. The elevation on route 30 will be stone, as well as glass. |

Will the steeple be stone and will there be a bell in it? |
|
Yes, it will be stone, but no decision has been made about putting a bell in it. The bell is a possibility. |

Will the teen area be carpeted? |
|
Some of the area will have some hard surface for the kids to play ball and the lounge area will be carpeted. There will also be an additional elevator in the teen area. |
